New Delhi, Jan 17 The Delhi University tonight indicted a professor in a sexual harassment case and instituted an inquiry committee to probe into allegations of professional misconduct against another teacher.
The executive council of the University, which met here this evening, found Prof J P Srivastava of Geology department guilty in the sexual harassment case, varsity sources said.
Srivastava has been debarred from holding any administrative responsibility for the next five years.
The council also instituted a committee to probe into charges of professional misconduct against Prof Amitabh Gupta of South Campus.
The executive council, which the highest decision making body of the university, however, dismissed a case of sexual harassment against a teacher of Urdu department for lack of proof.
