''The people of India have diverse culture heritage, they speak different languages and this diversity is the secret of the nations strength,'' Mr Lakhera said, while addressing the closing ceremony of the sixth mini jamboree North East scouts and guides here today.
He urged the participating scouts and guides to be part of a solution to the countrys problem rather than remaining a mere grumbler. Mentioning that India's future is in their hands, the Governor also expressed optimism that the jamboree would instil a sense of brotherhood among the people of North East India.
Participants from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Sikkim and Mizoram performed cultural dances during the closing ceremony.
As many as 528 scouts and guides and 50 officials, including Sikkim State Chief Commissioner H P Chhetri, from the eight NE states participated in the event.
